How do I apply to adopt a dog?

Applications forms are available from the drop box located under the Available for Adoption Page. Simply complete the form and submit your application.

What is the Adoption Process?

Simply complete and submit the adoption form. If you are a suitable candidate for the dog you have applied for we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet with your chosen dog. If all goes well with the meet and greet you can take your dog home the same day.

Can I adopt a dog that hasn’t been Desexed?

Unless you are adopting a Puppy that is too young to be desexed at the time of adoption the answer is simply NO. We have certain guidelines that we must meet in order to be a registered rescue and by law all dogs that are adopted must be Microchipped and Vaccinated.

Who pays for the desexing of my puppy when he/she is 6-9 months old as per our Adoption Contract?

The simple answer is we do providing you use our vet, however if you choose  to use  a vet of your own choice the cost will be capped at the cost our vet charges.

What is the adoption fee?

This covers our costs. We transport most of our rescues from interstate, then we need to desex, vaccinate, worm and flea and any other treatment that may be needed. There is also the cost of feeding and all the time that goes into finding new homes for them. We charge a flat fee per dog. Sometimes we break even.

I want to become a Foster Carer how do I apply?

To apply to become a Foster Carer with All Over Staffy Rescue simply go to our 'How you can help' page and follow the link. Complete the form and submit.

Why don’t you re home same gender together?

It is purely from experience. We have seen time and time again the bad side of it, and where so many of our surrenders come from. We do everything possible not to set up our dogs to fail.

Why didn’t I get a response to my application?

We only contact people we think will be a good match. Saying that, if you put an application in, we then have you “on our books” . We generally find a fit for everyone, but patience is your friend.

Why don’t you place dogs with cats?

There are very few Staffords that get along with cats, unless they have been raised with them. As most of our rescues are from pounds, we know very little of their history. We do not have cats, therefore cannot test.

Do you offer a trial period?

Yes. 2 weeks. If in this time it is found the the dog is not a perfect match, once returned, we will refund your money. However, if you think a little longer will make a difference, we are happy to work with you.

Why don’t you do interstate adoptions?

Its because once a dog becomes an AOSR dog, we have its back for life. If anything ever goes wrong, interstate is too far to travel to go and get them.
